Garden Gifts

Garden Gifts

Here are some fun gifts to make for that gardner in all of us:)

MAKE YOUR OWN GARDENER'S SOAP

Soap Mold
2 T Cornmeal
1 bar of glycerine soap
1/2 tsp of your favorite fragrance oil

Melt glycerine soap. Mix in cornmeal and oil and stir briskly. Pour soap into a soap mold of your choice and allow it to cool and set.

POT HOLDERS-From a Recipe Reader! THANK YOU:)

Some of my favorites were the handprint hot pads. trace their hands onto felt, cut out with pinking shears, and stitch to plain or checked hot pads with the name, date, and age on them. a set of each right/left. felt $0.20 per sheet (walmart) plain hot pads $1.77, permanent fabric marker for the names/dates $2.00. maybe $5. or $6. per kid, and they keep well.

RECIPE FOR GARDENER'S HANDCREAM

3 Tablespoons of beeswax
? cup sesame oil
1 Tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon of honey
2 Tablespoon calendula tea
3 drops of lavender essential oil
? teaspoon of baking soda

Mix all ingredients and heat at a medium temperature in your microwave until melted. Allow it to cool down a little then pour into jars.

Mother's Day Goodies

Mother's Day Goodies

Mom's Day Idea:

Have the children make a handprint on white or light construction paper and then add the poem below.

Mother's Day

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and wall.

But everyday I'm growing
I'll be grown up someday
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away.

So here's a final handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.

Puffy Coat-Gone 4 Good!

Puffy Coat-Gone 4 Good!

Ok, this is really silly, but I had this blue, puffy coat forever! I have to admit, even for me, and I am pretty darn easy when it comes to clothes---this coat had to go! Not only did it have stains that would never go away, but it had started to loose most of its puffy-ness---which really meant-- your outta here!

Even my boys were happy to see it go!----- Good news, a new more puffy coat has taken its place, and we are very happy together:)
